Pre-Camp Rehearsals:

Freshman, Color Guard (tryouts), and Percussion: August 8th - 12th      

9AM-12 PM

Band Camp Rehearsals:

All members:  August 15-19; 22-26    


Parent Meeting: Aug. 22nd 


Regular Rehearsal Schedule (starting Aug. 30th):

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6:30PM


Marching Band 2017 Information

The J.R. Tucker Marching Tigers proudly present the 2017 fall show: "Superheroes!"

Please review the information below for all new and returning members of the Marching Tigers.

Important Info

Student Course Schedules
  • Be sure to contact Tucker HS (804-527-4600) to make sure Marching Band is listed on your schedule.  Course # 9233Y.  
  • See the current schedule to the left for rehearsal dates and times.

  • Large instruments are provided by Tucker High School (tubas, baritones, mellophone/french horns, all percussion).  Students who need an instrument should contact Mr. Sampson at [email protected].

Freshman/Percussion/Interested Colorguard Members
  • Should plan to attend Pre-Camp Activities from August 8-12 from 9-12PM
  • Students interested in ColorGuard will try-out this week.
  • Percussion students will be placed on percussion instruments during this time.
  • Freshmen may register ahead of time by clicking here: Freshman Registration.

  • Please bring the following forms to camp on the first day (forms available on August 1, 2016)
    • Medical Treatment (print, complete and bring to camp)
    • Concussion Awareness (will be given out during band camp)
    • Handbook Signature Page (will be given out during band camp)

  • Sheet music can be found by clicking here.  All files should be uploaded by July 11th.  Please prepare the music to the best of your ability before camp.  Freshman: keep in mind, we will work diligently on the music, so don't worry if it's a bit challenging--it's ok!  We are here to help.
  • Upperclassmen: please do your best to memorize as much as possible.

Band Camp Activity Fee
  • $175
  • $50 Due by first day of camp--August 15th. 
  • Remainder due on August 29th.
  • Covers music, drill, t-shirt, show materials, band camp/music instructional support. 
  • Fees are non-refundable.

NEW! Friday Night Tiger Tailgate
  • We are pleased to offer the Tiger Tailgate (food before Friday Night Games) to ALL students in the Marching Tigers at NO COST!

Lastly, but most certainly not least---NEW UNIFORMS!
